Verna Louise Farkas

FARKAS, Verna Louise, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed peacefully while asleep and with her family near on Nov. 26, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born Oct 31, 1925 in Central City to parents, Stanley and Anna Adomnik. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wm. ‘Bill’ Farkas; her parents, and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving daughters, Charmaine Langdeau, Central City; and Verna Louise Farkas II (Smith) of Carinbrook, PA.; sons, Joseph William Farkas Jr., Cairnbrook; and Michael Al Farkas (Charyl), Wyandotte, MI. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kenneth Langdeau (Ruby) of Central City; Christina Burns (Nathan), Wyandotte, MI.; Robert Langdeau, Phoenix AZ.; Heather Peters, Wyandotte, MI.; and Emily and Jeremy Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Kenneth Langdeau Jr., Matthew, Michael and Oscar Burns. Verna is also survived by her brother, Walter “Punky” Adomnik, Bedford, PA., and numerous nephews and nieces. Verna moved to Detroit, MI., and soon after that she married the love of her life, Bill Farkas. They moved to Lincoln Park, MI., and began their family there. In 1982, Bill and Verna moved back “home” to retire in Cairnbrook. Verna was full of life, right to the end; she loved her family and her pets and she loved to play cards.  She was quick witted and fun to be around.  She will be greatly missed.
