Twila Grace Berkey

Berkey, Twila Grace, 94, a long time resident of Central City, went to be with her LORD AND SAVIOR surrounded by the caring staff at Fauquier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warrenton, Virginia.  Born July 5, 1921 in Central City, daughter of Samuel M. Koontz and Florence (Thomas) Koontz.  Preceded in death by beloved husband Reverend Charles Decker and son, Delbert, as well as Reverend Donald Berkey.  Survived by stepdaughters Vivian Prine, Esther Boyer, Reverend Irene Hixon, Carol Clemance (Charles), Joyce Plyle (Blair), and first cousins Zona Mae Findley Hare and Robert Lanier Findley, Dr. Wilber Gearhart (Jane), Calvin Sheeder (Wanda) and Adeline Grochowski.  Also survived by nephews Kinter K. Koontz, Stewart Koontz (Sally), William E. Layton (Deanna Phillips) as well as nieces Loretta Green (Frederick), Rachel Dawson Underwood, Charlotte Koontz Jones, PhD (Dupre), Judith Koontz Oliver (William), Donna Koontz Byxbe, Lois Koontz Blood.  A Charter Member of Kantner Assembly of God, in Kantner Pennsylvania, whose husband, Reverend Charles Decker, started the church.  Also survived by great niece Michelle Leonard (Charles) and great nephews Jeffrey Green (Janice), Reverend Donald Dawson (Reverend Kimberly), Reverend Kerry Green (Denise), Kenneth Green (Darla), William Underwood (Cynthia), Todd Layton (Melissa), and Jeremy Layton (Andrea) as well as 16 great, great nieces and nephews.  Friends received at Central City Tabernacle Assembly of God on School Road, Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania on Friday June 10, 2016 from 6-8pm and Saturday June 11, 2016 from 10-11am followed by the funeral service at 11am.  Interment McGregor Cemetery, meal following interment will be served by the ladies at the Church.  Mulcahy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com
