Thomas Joseph Kabala

Kabala, Thomas Joseph, 64, Cairnbrook, was called home January 22, 2017, at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born May 23, 1952 in Johnstown, son of Thomas and Stella (Kostick) Kabala.  Preceded in death by parents and in laws, Carl and Jean Larson.  Survived by wife of 40 years, the former Linda Larson; children, Michael, married to the former Heather Halkovich; and Michelle, wife of Seth Leach.  “Pap” to Mason and Spencer Kabala, and Conner and Caitlyn Leach.  To him they were PaulMason, Expense, Flyn and BabyS.  Sister, Carol Morris and husband, Charlie; sisters-in-law, Jane Stuft and husband, Barry; and Debbie Jarvis (Lloyd). Brothers-in-law, Ken Larson and wife Teri; Rick Larson and wife Yvonne; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He worked the majority of his career for GE and retired in 2009.  He took pride in renovating his home and making it just what “Zippy” liked.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Steelers and Penguins.  He was a man of few words that felt technology got away from him.  However, he had many texting buddies and mastered his smart phone.  He will be sadly missed.  Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, where vigil will be prayed Tuesday evening, Father Aron Maghsoudi.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (Sacred Heart), Central City, Father Brian Warchola.  Committal, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.  Friends who wish may make donations to the Central City Fire Department in Tom’s memory.  www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com.
