Delasko, Thomas, 96, Central City, went to eternal rest March 27, 2018. Born December 20, 1921 in Hollsopple (Land St.), the son of Joseph and Helen (Jena) Delasko. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Frank, Joseph, Stephen and John; sisters, Margaret, Eleanor, Pauline, Mary, Helen, Theresa and two infant sisters. Survived by loving wife of 71 years, the former Julia Rasko; loving daughter, Judith (Judy) and son-in-law William (Bill) Knapp; devoted grandchildren, William Thomas Knapp and Juleen Ann (Jim) Kephart; precious great-grandson, Brock James Kephart; sister, Josephine Fetsko; special nephew, Thomas D. (JoAnn) Delasko; and special niece, Patty Bonus. A proud U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving with the 83rd Q.M. Co. in Europe as a truck driver. A retired coal miner and construction worker and a member of both UMWA Local 6410 and Laborers Union 419. Tom enjoyed doing his yardwork, mowing the grass, planting his garden and always looking for that first robin in the spring. The family would like to thank Dr. Csikos, Dr. Bencie and all the nurses and caregivers at Windber Hospice for their excellent care. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Brian Warchola at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of Angels (St. John the Baptist) where Tom was a faithful lifelong member. Committal, St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
