Thomas I. Barnes Sr.

Barnes, Thomas l. Sr., passed away on September 27, 2023. Tom was born June 15, 1949, and graduated from Shade in 1967.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a true friend to many. He loved all sports especially when he could watch his kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. In the early 70's he coached little league and later t-ball. Tom earned 2,300 bowling rings, a hole in one and an angler award for trophy fish, reeling in a 15 lb. 6 oz. steelhead trout.  Tom was a military veteran, serving as an K-9, MP stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War. You could always find him on the first day of hunting season hoping for the perfect shot. Tom also loved fishing with his grandsons, watching their hockey games, learning about monster trucks, and sharing cheese puffs. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen Sr. and Irene, his sisters Mel and Peg and brothers Glen Jr. and Bill.  He was survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Debbi (Tom), son Tom Jr. (Kate) and grandsons Mike, Matt, Jackson, Benjamin, Chase, Connor, and Caleb, as well as sisters Barb, Sandy and Joanne, brothers Ed and Larry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
