Stanley Tomaszewski Obituary

Tomaszewski, Stanley, J., 95, Central City, died February 1, 2020 at home. Born May 14, 1924. The son of the late George and Mary (Pasierb) Tomaszewski. Preceded in death by parents; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Cecilia (Burella) Labuda; brothers, George and wife Stella, Joseph and wife Anna, and Ed; sisters, Rose and husband Dale Zell, Ann Jerz, Alice and husband Andy Siska; brother-in-law, Joe Jr. and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Evelyn and husband Fred Saylor. Loving husband of the former Cecilia Jean Labuda and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2020. Stan was a wonderful father to Deborah (Anthony) Renzi, Cynthia (Gordon) King, and Stanley Carl (Robin Paul). His grandchildren adored their “Pappy”: Kristen (Gabriel Gottlieb) Renzi, Stephen (Una Lin) Renzi, Myles and Nathan King, Kali (Alex) Friel, Ashlee Tomazewski and fiance Joe D’Amico. Josephine Jane Gottlieb is Pappy’s special great-granddaughter. Stephen and Una’s soon to be baby will know of their wonderful “great-Pappy.” Stan is also survived by brother Ray (Judy) and sister Mary. Stan loved his God, his family and his home, and all he knew loved him. He was generous in using his wood-working skills, loved to go fishing with his grandchildren, family and friends, took pride in his home and his yard, and finished the day by sitting on his porch swing with Cil and his friends. Stan was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Co. G, 60th Infantry Regiment, serving in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge and Rifleman Medal. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish (Sacred Heart of Jesus) for 95 years, and a member of their Holy Name Society. Charter member of VFW Post 747 with continuous membership for 75 years. Stan was a member of UMWA Local 6410 District 2 and a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. Friend will be received 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, at Our Lady Queen of Angels (Sacred Heart), Father Brian Warchola, celebrant. Interment parish cemetery. Military Rites by Central City VFW and American Legion Posts. Friends who wish, may make donations to Our Lady Queen of Angels’ Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
