Bialek, Stanley H. Jr., Lt. Colonel/USAF retired, 72, of Niceville, Florida, and formerly of Central City, died November 19, 2016, at home following a long illness. He was born October 5, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Stanley and Verna Bialek, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Shade High School in 1962, and Penn State University in 1966, and was then commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, also earning a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a pilot, squadron commander, authored the highly acclaimed B-52 Weapon System Master Plan, and led the B-52 Offensive Avionics System/Cruise Missile Integration Program until his retirement. He flew the B-52, C-141, EC-121 aircraft and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and six Air Medals for valor in combat along with numerous meritorious service awards and commendations. Colonel Bialek is survived by his wife, Judy, of Niceville; children Stan Bialek of Chicago, Illinois; Mark Bialek of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; Amanda Thompson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Brent Bialek of Falls Church, Virginia; and grandsons, Parker, Miles and Ryan Thompson. Also surviving is a sister, Dolly Gilbert, of Fort Myers, Florida; and nephews Raymond and Richard Pasierb.
