Rena Pearl Russian

RUSSIAN, Rena Pearl – 97, Cairnbrook, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, friends and caregivers.   Born September 17, 1927, daughter of Scott and Margaret Wagner.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, George; brothers Warren and Lee; sisters, Mary Jane and Catherine; son-in-law Ernie; granddaughter Sydney; and grandson Justin.  She is survived by her daughters- Karen, Donna and Kathy and son-in-law George.  She was a caring and loving grandmother to Ernie (Kim), Scott (Sarah), Leanne (Mike) and Brandon (Alexa); Great- grandchildren Dominic, Lily, Kora, Lucas, Michaela, Amelia, Chase, Josie, Cyd, and Maeve; Great-great-granddaughter Athena, and her cherished cat, Lucy.   She truly loved her special visits from her numerous nieces and nephews.  Rena was a lady of faith and a member of Graef’s Lutheran Church.   Rena loved her family holidays, cooking and baking, and canning homegrown vegetables from George’s Garden.  She especially loved going to the VFW for pizza and beer.  

Rena P. was loved by all who knew her and was a beloved soul who touched many lives.  Her sense of humor and kind-heartedness will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her throughout her 97 years of life.   Rena will be fondly remembered by many of her former students of Shade High School for her generosity and kindness as a cafeteria worker.

The Russian family would like to send special thanks to Rena’s caregivers - Larry and Linda, Julie, Lou Ann, Michelle, Tracy, Trista, Jen, Brittany, and Dr. Fockler and his amazing staff.   A special thanks to Brendan.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in Rena’s memory.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, January 2 for viewing at Mulcahy Funeral Home from 3:00 – 8:00.    January 3 – Viewing from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Graef’s Lutheran Church with funeral service to follow.
