Raymond J. Posa, 87, Central City died peacefully at home May 14, 2026. Born December 21, 1938, son of Joseph and Marina (LaRosa) Posa. Survived by wife of 61 years Theresa (Bero) Posa; children Maria Smilo; Michele (David) Mooney; and Christina (Keith) Custer. A proud Navy veteran and devoted family man, Raymond was a lifelong resident of Central City. He was a familiar, welcoming face who truly loved connecting with his neighbors and sharing a good conversation. Especially, spending time with his friends at Goga’s and Kubek’s garage. He possessed a remarkable talent for working with his hands, a skill most proudly demonstrated when he built his own family home from the ground up. Whether he was tinkering under the hood of a car, or reading a magazine, or enjoying the timeless stories of old movies, Raymond approached his hobbies with the same passion and dedication he gave to his hometown. His craftsmanship, warm presence, and enduring dedication to the community he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends will be received 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home where service will be held 10 am Thursday, Father Brian Warchola. Committal St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites by C.C. VFW Post.
