Patrick G. Merchant

Patrick G. Merchant passed away June 5, 2026. He was the son of Lawrence Merchant and Helen Shima, a brother to Susan, Dan and Larry and a husband to the love of his life, Jo, for 45 years. Pat was also the best cat Dad ever!

Pat had many interests. Including astronomy, climatology, dendrochronology. He worked independently designing and developing web pages, online surveys, catalogs, and he taught computer literacy. He loved music and he could play the violin, keyboard, and guitar.  In 1998, Pat was invited to give a presentation at WorldCon, a science fiction convention in Baltimore, MD, “Hugo Gernsback Remembered.”

Pat loved to talk about everything and talked to everyone. He will be missed. “I will love you forever.” The service is private.
