Nina C. Lizik

Nina C. Lizik, age 99, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the John Paul II Manor, a caring and loving community in Cresson, PA. From her birth in Homestead, PA, on January 20, 1917 to her death, she delighted people around her with her sparkling personality, love, and faith. She was born to John and Antonina (Klocek) Lizik.  Her siblings included the Rev. Francis, John, Helen (Lease), and Joseph, all who predeceased Nina. Nina is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

Nina worked at Joseph Hornes in Pittsburgh as an assistant buyer in the silver department.  She left that position to serve as a housekeeper for Roman Catholic parishes in Barnesboro and Central City, PA.  Nina will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the various churches she served and she was loved by the residents and staff at John Paul II Manor. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Angels (Sacred Heart of Jesus) Church in Central City.  Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Central City. The family will greet friends immediately before the Mass from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
