Kutsmeda, Nick, 92, Central City, died May 26, 2016 at the Church of the Brethren Home. Born December 13, 1923 in Pine Hill, the son of Frank and Mary Kutsmeda. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Stella Yurkow; son, Ronald; sister, Ann Lucas; and brothers, John and Alex. Survived by daughter, Carol (Bob); granddaughter, Carrie (Bob) Antesberger; great-grandchildren, Bobby and Brielle. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving with both the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions, seeing action at the Battle of the Bulge. Member of UMWA Local 6410. Nick was an exceptional woodworker. The family would like to thank Windber Hospice and the Church of the Brethren Home for their devoted care of Nick. Friends will be received 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home where brief service will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed at 10 a.m. by funeral service at Holy Assumption of Mary Orthodox Church, Father Elijah Bremer. Committal parish cemetery. Graveside Military Rites by Central City American Legion and VFW posts. Panachida will be sung 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
