Homich, Michael, 82, formerly of 34 4th St. Cairnbrook, PA, died December 12, 2023. Born December 31, 1940, the son of the late Nicholas and Nancy (Anastasia) Homich. Preceded in death by brothers Adam, John, Frank, Nick and Bill; sisters Mary, Helen, Susan, Nancy, Anna. Survived by sister Judy of Tucson, AZ and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and godchildren. Beloved by many – family, friends, neighbors and co-workers – whom he also loved. Along with many genres of music, dancing, a great story or a good joke - he had many interests. His most beloved hobbies involved working outside, growing flowers and vegetable gardening of which he shared many a harvest. He also had a career spanning 43 years as a printer for newspapers in NY (Newsday 1958 – 1967); Erie, PA (1967-1970); and Johnstown, PA (The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat 1970-2001). A very kind-hearted man who was always there for family, friends and almost anyone in need. His final hours were appropriately accompanied by loved ones, listening to polka music and reliving many fond memories. Our brother, uncle and friend set an example we will spend the rest of our lives trying to follow. He was a humble man of great integrity, honesty, generosity and love. He will live in us forever. Friends will be received at the Mulcahy Funeral Home 6-8 pm Friday December 15, 2023. Panachida at 9:30 am on Saturday December 16, 2023 at the Mulcahy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at SS Peter and Paul’s Orthodox Greek Catholic Church at 10 am on Saturday December 16, 2023. Fr. Deacon Oleg Aminov. Committal parish cemetery.
