Linda Jo Berkey

Berkey, Linda Jo, 76, formerly of Cairnbrook, passed away peacefully in her home in Windber.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray Berkey, parents Alfred and Josephine Danel, Brother-In-Law Daniel Goncher Sr and her Grandson Zachary Smith.  She is survived by her sisters, Jeannine Goncher, Lisa (Stuart) Smith, and Laura (Gary) Hood; her daughters, Heather (Daniel) Smith, with whom she resided, Marlene (David) Newman and Diana Carroll; and her greatest loves in her life - her grandchildren Carly Rae and Brady, Justin and Ashley, Patrick and Benjamin; numerous nieces and nephews.  She believed that family was everything and shared her’s with numerous foster children throughout the years.  She achieved so much in her life, however her greatest achievement was her children and especially her grandchildren and she would brag every chance she had.  The family would like to extend a special Thank You to their “Nanasitter”, Kimberly Betz and Windber Hospice - especially Marie, RN and Wendy, CNA.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in our mother’s name to the Humane Society of your choice.  As Linda would always tell her grandkids - “I love you to the moon - 222 times”.  Private arrangements by the Mulcahy Funeral Home. There will be a private Celebration of Life at family's discretion.
