Yatta, Kathryn J. (Buhala), 97, Cairnbrook, passed away December 20, 2016 at the Church of the Brethren Home. Born March 19, 1919 in Portage, daughter of the late Steven and Ann (Chismar) Buhala. Preceded in death by husband, Martin J.; brothers Mike and Steven Jr.; sister Mary Malik; and grandson, Gary Pfeilsticker. Kay is survived by daughters, Patricia Pfeilsticker and husband James B. Yelovich, Stoystown; Alice Zelenski and husband Edward, Cairnbrook; son, Thomas, married to the former Betty Ann Adomnik, Central City. Sisters, Ann Grega, Central City and Betty Yatta, Cairnbrook. Grandchildren Ray Pfeilsticker Jr. and wife Becky; Cindy Caes and husband Timothy, both of Dayton, Ohio; Lori Deneen and husband Eric, Chambersburg; Thomas Yatta Jr. and wife Billie, Bedford; Debra Popig and husband Adrian, Central City; Edward Zelenski Jr. Cairnbrook; David Zelenski and wife Michelle, Central City. Great Grandchildren, Christopher and David Pfeilsticker; David Jr. and Haley Zelenski; Tyler, Tanner and Thomas Yatta; Brady, Bryce and Blaise Deneen; Great Great Grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa and James Pfeilsticker. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (Sacred Heart) where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She took pride in her home, enjoyed playing bingo, working in her flower garden and making rag rugs on her loom. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and was best known for her keen sense of humor and quick wit. Kay was a kind and devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at the Brethren Home for their excellent care and support. Friends will be received 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home where vigil service and rosary will be prayed Thursday evening.
