Scaife, Karen Anne (Kabina), 73, of Erie, PA, passed away at her residence on October 10, 2022. She was born on August 3, 1949, in Alexandria, VA. Daughter of the late Ernest F. and Anne (Llewellyn) Kabina. Karen grew up in Central City, PA and graduated from Shade High School. She married the love of her life, Charles I. Scaife, Sr. on April 27, 1969, and had 46 years with him until his passing in 2015. Karen and Charles laid down their roots in Erie and started their family. Over the years, Karen worked various jobs, most notably was Hills Department Store and Avon. She dabbled in cake decorating, babysitting, silk flower arrangements, candy making, canning, photography and crocheting to name a few. Karen was an animal lover and raised many kitties throughout her life. In the last few years, Karen crocheted more Christmas tree skirts than anyone can count! Undoubtedly, many friends and family will think of her fondly when they decorate their homes for the holidays. Besides her parents and her husband, Karen was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Kabina. Survivors include her three children, Michele Shearer (Darren); Charles Scaife, Jr (Ginger); and April Honeywell. She is also survived by her siblings Ernie, Martha, Barbara, Ruthie, and David; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members to include her extended family of friends in Erie. Friends and family will be received at Mulcahy Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Pastor Erica Wellner will preside over funeral services on Monday, October 17th at 11am at Mulcahy Funeral home. Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery in Berlin, PA.
