Leonard, Joseph A., 93, formerly of Hooversville, died July 14, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Johnstown, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 12, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Ida Leonard. Preceded in death by wife, the former Eleanor Kovak; brothers, Elmer and Paul, and sister, Irene Stanko. Survived by daughters, Deborah (Michael) Foust, Johnstown; and Regina (Mark) Stahl, Central City; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Kaitlin Foust, William Harman, and Danielle (Kody) McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Kannon and Klaire McKenzie; and a number of nieces and nephews. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre. He owned and operated the barber shop in Hooversville until he was 88 years old and became a friend to many in the community. He will be forever remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Friend will be received from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville, Father Karl Kolodziejski, OFM, Conv. Committal, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery.
