Russian, John Jr., “Cuppy,” 95, died May 24, 2017 at the Church of the Brethren Home. Born September 10, 1921, the son of the late John Sr. and Catherine Russian. Preceded in death by wife, Helen V.; brothers, Mike, Metro, Charles, George and Frank; and sisters, Ann and Mary. Survived by children, William Dale (Donna), Cairnbrook; Emma Louise, Central City; and Larry J. (Lisa), Central City; grandchildren, William David (Marcie); Devin Lee (Regina); and Darlene Lynn; great-grandson, Gavin; and a number of nieces and nephews. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He loved playing pinochle and poker and hanging out at Goga’s or Kubek’s garage. Cuppy was retired from the New Enterprise Sand Plant. The family would like to thank the staff at the Church of the Brethren Home for their support and care. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. John Hickman. Committal, McGregor Cemetery.
