John M. Sedewar

John M. Sedewar, 78, Cairnbrook, died October 30, 2025. Born January 26, 1947 the son of Michael and Helen Sedewar. Preceded in death by parents; sister Mary Kalanish and brother Charles. Survived by wife of 54 years, the former Karin Blackburn and son Michael (Lindsey). John is also survived by his loving dog and favorite companion, Guiness, whom he enjoyed taking for long car rides around the mountain.

John enjoyed spending time with his friends at Buck Run and he belonged to the Audubon Hawk Watch. John and his wife Karin built and opened their cabin for rent, “The Allegheny Front Experience”, which he took great pride in.

In his early years John was an outstanding football player for the Shade Panthers scoring 60 points his senior year and also a member of the Shade Track Team. He was employed for 30 years at Bethlehem Steel and enjoyed spending time helping Dr. Colvin.

Friends will be received 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home. Private committal will be held at Buckstown Cemetery.
