John Russian

Russian, John, 78, of Somerset died unexpectedly January 28, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center after emergency surgery.  Born August 21, 1937 in Shade Twp. The son of the late Frank and Anna (Kaniuk) Russian.  Preceded in death by brother, Donald and sister Nancy.  Survived by siblings: Ann, George, Mary, Charles, Elaine, Michiel, Paulette, Joseph, Nicholas, Frederick and Stacia.  John graduated from Shade High School in 1956, served in the U. S. Air Force, moved to the Chicago area where he lived for nearly fifty years, retiring from the U. S. Postal Service.  He enjoyed reading, bird watching, walking and visiting.  Generous, friendly, kind-hearted and trustworthy described him.  John was a cherished son, brother, friend and citizen.  No visitation per his request.  A memorial service is planned for the spring.  Arrangements by the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City.
