Joan E. Bestvina

Bestvina, Joan E., 82, Cairnbrook, died November 8, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family who adored her.   Born October 14, 1935, the daughter of Harry and Gladys Ross.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers, David and William; infant sister, Patty Ann; and cousin, Shirley Lehman.  Survived by husband, George “Henry”; daughters, Susan; Louise (Tom) Friend; and Connie (Mike) Toma; brother, Boyce; sister, Marilyn (Frank) Carpenetti; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Also survived by a number of extended family members, especially Vince and Barbara Bestvina and the Spinelli families; and special friends, Dorothy Shultz, Arlinda Metz and Dean Barker.  Joan was a loving and wonderful mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and two little dogs, Daisy and Sandy.  A devoted Christian and member of the Central City Assembly of God.  Joan was committed to her faith.  She enjoyed the simple things in life, like a cold beer, country music, and dinner at her favorite restaurant on Friday nights.  Spending time with her best friend Helen and multiple wonderful neighbors brought such joy to her life.  A special thank you to the multiple caregivers and home health staff that provided amazing and loving care to her over the years.  Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home and Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at the Central City Assembly of God, Pastor Philip Sinclair.  Internment, McGregor Cemetery.  www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com.
