James R. Chapman

Chapman, James R., 74, MSGT USAF Retired, Stoystown, died December 15, 2020.  Born August 15, 1946, the son of Carl and Violet (Waller) Chapman.  Preceded in death by father and brother, Alvin.  Survived by wife, Sandra; sons, Charles and James (Courtney); 4 grandchildren; brothers, Carl, Tom and Robert; sister, Janice; and a number of nieces and nephews.  James was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years.  A former law enforcement officer in VA.  A 28 year member of the American Legion Post 56 in VA and Post 911 in PA.   Served as VA State Commander of the American Legion.   He earned his BA at VA Wesleyan College at age 50.  Private arrangements by the Mulcahy Funeral Home.  www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com.
