Elma Koch Obituary

Koch, Elma (Landis), of Central City, PA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Meadow View Care Center, Berlin, PA. Elma was born in Central City on December 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Elizabeth Landis.  She was united in marriage on July 7, 1946 to the late Henry F. Koch, who preceded her in death in 1991.  Elma is survived by her devoted son, Roger, of Central City.  A 1944 graduate of Shade High School, she attended Kentucky Christian College and faithfully served with her husband, as he ministered to churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and western Pennsylvania.  Her loving, creative and generous nature made her an asset to their ministries and a blessing to all of those she met. She had a passion for working with special need and senior citizens. After retiring and moving to Central City in the 1980’s, she continued to reflect the goodness of God as an active member of the Central City Christian Church. She enjoyed celebrating life with other seniors at the Senior Center in Central City.  Elma is survived by one brother, Jeff (Joetta) Landis, of Sun City, FL and numerous grateful nieces, nephews and their families.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six siblings, Ruth Gordon, Frank Landis, Louise Klages, Bernice Lenhart, Fay Jones, and Jack Landis. Elma’s selfless service to the Lord will continue to bless all of those whose lives have been made richer and sweeter for having been touched by her love. Private Service at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Pastor Randy Reynolds, followed by private committal, Daley Cemetery. www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com
