She is the sister of Jeffrey (Cindy) Shaffer, Cairnbrook, PA; Dianne (Charles) Merrill, Tampa, FL, and Lisa (Dennison) Hoxie, Cleveland, OH.  Debbie was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was a 1980 graduate of Shade High School, obtained an Associate's Degree in General Science from Mount Aloysius College, a B.S. in Animal Science from Penn State University, and an M.S. in Extension Education from Penn State. She enjoyed working for the Penn State College of Agriculture Computer Services Division and the US Department of Agriculture. Debbie was a wonderful military wife and mother. She lived and supported her family on military assignments at West Point, NY, Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX, and the Army Space Program Office, Alexandria, VA prior to settling at Knapp Time Farm, Hooversville, PA. As a loving and dedicated wife and mother, Debbie took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed and was active in scuba diving, scrapbooking, mountain biking, photography, horseback riding, the Somerset County Fair, 4H programs, and being a Penn State Master Gardener. Debbie had a love of nature and the outdoors; especially gardening and hiking on the farm where you could see and admire her magnificent gardens and flowers. Her hobbies also included traveling, hiking, and photography.  Debbie’s photography focused on family, friends, and her travels which took her to numerous national parks and locations worldwide. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. The Knapp family is very grateful for every kindness and the exceptional care extended to Debbie particularly by her healthcare providers, nurses, doctors, and especially Windber Hospice. Friends will be received on Friday, January 25th from 3 to 8 p.m. at Mulcahy Funeral Home Central City, PA.
