David G. Bonus

Bonus, David G., 81, Central City, died July 27, 2016.  Born April 2, 1935, the son of Adolph and Julia (Nosel) Bonus.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John and Dutz; and great-grandson, Sullivan.  Survived by wife, the former Patty Yurjevsic, whom he married September 28, 1957; children, Joyce (Bob) Wahl, Central City; Joni (Michael) O’Ship, Lebanon; and David (Wendy), Montoursville; grandchildren, Erin (Mark) Nelson; Ashley (Bryan) Rupert; Kerri Bonus and Ryan Bonus; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Elin Nelson, who were David’s pride and joy; brother, Leon (Cora), Berlin; sister, Patricia Dolan, California; and a number of nieces and nephews.  David was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran, served as financial secretary of PNA Lodge 1878, life member of VFW and American Legion, Somerset County Marine Corps. League, UMWA Local 6410, an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to garden while listening to polkas.  Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home.  Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Paul Yanke.  Committal St. John the Baptist Cemetery.  Graveside military rites by Central City VFW and American Legion Posts.
