Cecil William Wahl Jr.

Cecil William Wahl, Jr., “Butch,” (age 71) of Rio, WV, formerly of Cairnbrook, PA, passed away on June 25, 2017, in a boating accident at Parker Hollow Lake in Baker, WV, while engaging in his favorite pastime, fishing.  Butch was born January 21, 1946, to Cecil Sr. and Betty (Sullivan) Wahl.   He was a retired coal miner.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He loved spending time with family and friends and spoiling his grandchildren and granddogs. Butch is preceded in death by his loving wife, June Louise (Morris) Wahl; his parents; two infant grandchildren: Cody and Bo; one brother-in-law, Frank Mihelcic; and a special uncle, John “Mousey” Zvonik.  Butch is survived by his children: John Wahl and wife Vickie of North Carolina and Tina Gosnell and husband Tom of Rio, WV; his grandchildren:  Stephanie Gosnell and friend Courtney Phillips of Rio, WV and Jamie Gosnell and wife Lara of Mathias, WV; three great-grandchildren:  Alicia, Ryan, and Austen Gosnell of Mathias, WV; three sisters:  Trina Blough and husband Danny of Hollsopple, PA, Peggy Miller and husband Ralph of Schellsburg, PA, and Pat Mihelcic of Central City, PA; one brother:  Bobby Wahl and wife Joyce of Central City, PA; sister-in-law Karen Walters and husband Jimmy of Cairnbrook, PA; brother-in-law Charles Morris and wife Carol of Cairnbrook, PA; many nieces and nephews; special friends:  Mike Contrilla of Cairnbrook, PA, Bob Mulcahy of Central City, PA, Bob Cosner, of Rio, WV, and Steve Stormoen, of Rio, WV; and his dog, Jennie. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Rev. Ruth Jensen.
