Betty Ann Yatta, affectionately known as "Bunny," passed away peacefully at her home on October 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 30, 1956, at Windber Hospital to the late Walter and Virginia (Shimer) Adomnik, Betty lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and devotion to those she loved.
A graduate of Shade High School, Betty's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a loving wife to her husband, Thomas Yatta, with whom she recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two children: Lori, married to Eric Deneen, and Thomas, married to Billie Yatta.
Betty was the proud grandmother of six grandsons-Brady, Bryce, and Blaise (children of Lori and Eric), and Tyler, Tanner, and Tommy (children of Billie and Thomas). She was their biggest fan, often found cheering them on at sports fields and events.
Known throughout the community as the beloved "lunch lady," Betty served for many years as the Foodservice Director at the local school. Her kindness, humor, and cooking left a lasting impression on generations of students and staff. She was an excellent cook and truly loved being complimented on her food, always taking pride in preparing meals that brought joy to others.
She is survived by her five siblings: Walter Adomnik Jr. (Ruth), Linda Adomnik (Ken Topka), Frank Adomnik (Joyce), Rickie Adomnik (late Mary Ann), and Steve Adomnik (Sandra). She was a treasured aunt to 16 nieces and nephews and 26 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom lovingly knew her as "Aunt Bunny."
Betty enjoyed camping, quilting, and four-wheeler riding with her grandsons, and spending time with her sisters and friends, especially during Sunday card games at camp. She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Central City, where she led numerous fundraisers and shared her talents generously. She also deeply loved her dogs, Ava and Lily, who were her loyal companions and brought her endless comfort and happiness.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mulcahy Funeral Home in Central City.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 am Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Central City, Fr. Aron Maghsoudi, Celebrant.
Betty Ann's-aka Mom, Grandma, Vacation Grandma, Sissy, and Aunt Bunny's-legacy is one of love, laughter, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
