Sesack, Betty Lou, 96, Johnstown, formerly of Central City, passed away peacefully October 19, 2024. Betty has gone home to be with the Lord, her husband, and son. She was born in Somerset County on March 12, 1928 to the late Harvey and Anna (Foust) Berkey. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank of 59 ½ years; son, Frank Jr.; granddaughter, Abby Sesack; great grandson, Ian Blackford; brother, Merle; sisters, Dorothy (Edward) Paul, Phyllis (Donald) Watson, Fanny (Frank) Primsar; brother-in-law, Robert Cassidy. Survived by son, Barry (Marsha) Sesack of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, San Su (Richard) Blackford of Johnstown, PA.; grandchildren, Eric (Piper), Scott (Yen), Kyle, Shayna, Joshua, Steven (Chelsey), Andrea (Matt); great grandchildren, Ava Jane, Jonah (Olivia), Cheyenne, Jocelyn, Vanessa, Maya, Emma, Lilian, Carter, Alix, Elle, Ella, Abigale, Samual, Carsen, Bennett, Brady, Ingrid; great great grandchild, Rosalie; sister, Delores Cassidy; brothers, Harvey (Lynda), Jay (Emily); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Betty retired after 23 years with Dorfman-Hoffman and Jennifer Dale Garment Factory as a seamstress. A meticulous homemaker and fantastic cook. Betty made the best halupki, pierogies, and nut roll. At Christmas she made dozens and dozens of cookies and candies, giving most away to family. Betty was the most selfless person ever. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church for many years, converting from the Brethren faith to join Frank’s religion. Betty taught Sunday school and was active in the Ladies Altar Society. Her hobbies include reading, word search, jigsaw puzzles, and making some of the most beautiful quilts. Funeral Services will be private at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery. At Betty’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert F. Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City.
