In Loving Memory of Anna M. (Benna) Hitechew
Anna Hitechew graced this world on September 8, 1944, and peacefully departed on April 23, 2026. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and resilience.
Anna was greeted in heaven by her beloved parents, Frank and Marie (Martell) Benna, her cherished son, Henry L. Hitechew Jr., her dear granddaughter, Ashley R. Hitechew, and her loving sisters, Hilda Byers and Evelyn Miller. Her legacy of love and faithfulness lives on through her devoted husband of 65 years, Henry L. Hitechew Sr., who resides in New Paris. She is also survived by her caring children: Cynthia (Dane) Cramer of Somerset, Sherry Dneaster of Central City, Barry (Debbie) Hitechew of Georgia, and Tiereni (Ryan) Imler of Buffalo Mills.
Her heart and home were always open to her ten grandchildren: Heather, Larissa, Katie, Shane, Jacob, Sarah, Andrew, Joelle, Sophia, and Isaac; and her fifteen great-grandchildren: Gage, Alexander, Riya, Ivy, Jace, Khloe, Aniya, Chess, Lucy, Dean, Norah, Rex, Chip, Rocky, and Jax each of whom she treasured deeply.
Anna's calling in life was to care for others, a calling she fulfilled with grace and compassion as a Registered Nurse at Altoona Hospital and Donahue Manor. Her journey in nursing began as an LPN, and through perseverance and determination, she proudly earned her RN. Her fellow nurses became some of her closest friends, sharing many cherished moments and sun-kissed beach trips together.
Anna and Henry's adventurous spirit took them across the United States, exploring the country in their motorhome, often accompanied by the warmth of family. These journeys were a testament to her love for life and the people around her.
A woman of strong faith, Anna was a devoted member of the United Church of Schellsburg. Her greatest joy was nurturing her family, watching them grow, and extending her motherly love.
Anna's legacy is one of love, faith, and a life well-lived. She touched countless lives with her kindness and will be remembered with fondness and gratitude by all who knew her.
Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished forever.
A celebration of life will be officiated by Linda Kabler and Dane Cramer on June 20, 2026 with a tribute conducted by The Nurses Honor Guard- details are to be determined
