Ann (Hook) Hrinko

Hrinko, Ann (Hook), 95, Central City, passed away in her sleep at home on January 15, 2019.  Born May 23, 1923 in Confluence, PA, the daughter of Louis and Christine (Kocur) Hook.  Preceded in death by parents; husband of 59 years, Charles “Chuck” Hrinko; sisters, Mary Filo and Kay Wojcik; brothers, Michael, John and Paul (Dazzy) Hook.  Survived by son, Michael Charles and Mary (Bebe) Kaniuk, VA; sister, Susan Lutsic, Cairnbrook; brother, Steve (Gibby), Ohio; loving nieces and nephews, Sharon and Barry, Paul and Tony, Sandy and Paul, Randy, Mark, Michael, Richard and Linda, Shirley and Alan, Linda and Chuck, David and Kathy, Denise and David, Susan and Greg, Diane and Grady, Artie, Michael, Cathy, Nick and Rosemary, Ron, Joyce and Greg, Bruce, Daniel, Karen, Dolores and Lou, Joe and Jackie and Ray and Terry.  Ann was a loving wife and mother.  A lifelong resident of Central City and member of Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church.  She was a devoted member of Holy Assumption Altar Society.  Spent more than 20 years employed at the Cairnbrook sewing factory.  A kind, gentle and loving soul, always happy and never had a bad word to say about anyone.  Ann loved her church, enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with family and friends and sitting on her sunporch enjoying life.  A special thank you to her loving caregivers and friends who have become part of our family, Betty Jo and Gary, Linda, Mary Kay and Bill, Connie, Shawna, Abby, Brenda and Steve, Dianna, Desiree, her favorite little girl, Payson, best friend and neighbor, Sue and Fr. Eli, her spiritual light.  She will be missed by many but her passing showed us all how to live.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City where Panachida will be held at 6 p.m.  Funeral service will be sung at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church, Fr Elijah Bremer.  Committal, Parish Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers and cards, friends who wish may make donations to St. Mary’s in Ann’s memory.  www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com.
