Andrew Milavec

Milavec, Andrew, 88, Cairnbrook, died June 30, 2017, at home.  Born April 15, 1929, the son of John and Frances (Yuko) Milavec.  Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Andrea Dabbs and her husband, Donald; sister, Mary; brother, John; and infant sister, Louise.  Survived by wife of 61 years, the former Rosella Kolonich; daughter, Kimberly (David) Leipchack, Cairnbrook; and son, Andrew (Stephanie), Central City; grandchildren, David (Kristin), Michael (Nikki), Rebecca (Rod), Donald (Elyse), Jacob (Megan), Cole and Vincent; and 9 great-grandchildren.  Brother of Frances Nivinski, Joseph Milavec and Christine Milavec.  Andrew helped his dad at the family’s Milavec Store and Butcher Shop working as a butcher and meat processor. He worked on road construction, and retired as a coal miner.  A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving as a cook.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (St. John the Baptist), Fr.
