Andrew Milavec Obituary

Milavec, Andrew, 88, Cairnbrook, died June 30, 2017, at home.  Born April 15, 1929, the son of John and Frances (Yuko) Milavec.  Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Andrea Dabbs and her husband, Donald; sister, Mary; brother, John; and infant sister, Louise.  Survived by wife of 61 years, the former Rosella Kolonich; daughter, Kimberly (David) Leipchack, Cairnbrook; and son, Andrew (Stephanie), Central City; grandchildren, David (Kristin), Michael (Nikki), Rebecca (Rod), Donald (Elyse), Jacob (Megan), Cole and Vincent; and 9 great-grandchildren.  Brother of Frances Nivinski, Joseph Milavec and Christine Milavec.  Andrew helped his dad at the family’s Milavec Store and Butcher Shop working as a butcher and meat processor. He worked on road construction, and retired as a coal miner.  A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving as a cook.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church (St. John the Baptist), Fr. Aron Maghsoudi, celebrant.  Committal, Martin Luther Cemetery.  The family would like to thank Interim Hospice, and especially Stephanie and Brittany for their care and support.  Military graveside rites by Central City American Legion and VFW Posts. www.mulcahyfuneralhome.com.
