Huston, Patricia Ann (Romanko), age 67 of Bedford, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 8 at the Seidman Cancer Center, Cleveland, after her third bout with cancer.  She cherished her Byzantine Catholic heritage and hometown of Johnstown, PA, born there on September 29, 1951, the third child of Thomas A. and Verna (Strank) Romanko.  A 1969 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School, she earned her nursing diploma from the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1972 and was proud to wear her CVMH cap and pin. At CVMH she developed a lifelong friendship with Kathy (Kate) Huston and met and then married Kate's brother Robert H. (Sam) Huston on November 18, 1972.  They celebrated nearly 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Pat and Sam moved to Bedford, Ohio in 1974, where she first worked as a dispensary nurse for Ford Motor Company, and was then hired the day she applied at the Bedford Community Hospital. She worked in several departments at the hospital and in several positions, prior to choosing the operating  room. Pat chose to treat her patients as if they were members of her family. She enjoyed the small hospital setting and camaraderie of the staff, developing many special friendships. Travel to Civil War sites and annual vacations to the Outer Banks gave her ample opportunities to enjoy her favorite hobbies of photography and shopping for special gifts. She is survived by her sisters, Verna M. Romanko of Johnstown, and Donna with husband Bill Riggle of Claysville, and these in-laws: brother-in-law Roy E. (Chuck) and wife Shirley; sister-in-laws Kathleen (Kate) Jones, Charlene Kiser and husband Randy, and Maureen Swallow. She loved her nieces Melissa, Christa, Heather, Tori and Nicole and nephews Cody and Chase.  She enjoyed special friendships with Diana and Ron, Jim, Jeannie, Helen, Jan, Mary Lou, Donna, neighbor Damian, and especially cousin Barry Romanko and his family. Pat's love of animals leaves behind pets Dixie, Wylie and Taz. In lieu of flowers, which she loved, please consider donations to Friends of Pets, P.O. Box 813 Akron, OH 44309, to the Cambria County Humane Society, 743 Galleria Dr. Ext. Johnstown, PA 15904, Special Olympics of Cambria County, P.O. Box 1028 Johnstown, PA 15907 or Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 217 4th Street, Conemaugh, PA 15909. Friends will be received Friday, 4-7 pm , at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 521 Broadway Avenue, Bedford, OH 440-232-1441. In Pennsylvania, visitation will be Monday, 4-7 PM at the Robert F. Mulcahy Funeral Home in Central City, with Blessing Service Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home and burial service following at Shade Church Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz  of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church officiating.
