SHUMSKI---Arthur Florian, Central City, native of Vermont, passed away comfortably October 12, 2014, while surrounded by family. Born June 20, 1934. Preceded in death by parents, Lena and Stanley Shumski; brother, Hendry "Hank" Shumski; and grandson, Ryan Roberts. Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jane S. Shumski, Central City; brothers, Anthony Shumski, East Amherst, NY; and Stanley Shumski, Springfield, VT; son, Marc Staff, Katy, Texas; and daughters, Diane Roberts, Central City; and Candice Shumski, Graniteville, VT; his grandchildren, Larissa, Ashleigh, Zachary, Rhylea, Kristopher, Reece and Abygayle will cherish many memories with their Pop-Pop. Art proudly served his country in the US Navy and Air Force from 1951 to 1958. Throughout his life, Art worked for Brunswick Corporation, as well as numerous restaurants up the East coast. Member of the American Legion. For recreation, Art could be found at the bowling center or fishing at a nearby lake or pond. Instead of a funeral service, there will be a celebration of life held in Central Vermont in the Summer of 2015. Condolences can be sent to the Shumski family, P.O. Box 161, Central City, PA 15926. I fondly remember my mother's first cousin, Art, who brought her joy each time he visited our home in Springfield. He was a dashing young lad in his Navy uniform and his smile was always as bright and cheerful as the new day sun.

Please know out hearts are with you all at this time and always.I can hear Art when he answered the phone say Jane's at that Indian thing LOL he was a character and will be missed by many.Look to the heavens and see him fly with all his love ones from years gone by. we love ya ,Debby and Little Fox

I am sorry to hear about Arthur's passng.He also was my mother's first cousin. I remember him when he came home from the navy as well
