Robert F. Mulcahy

Robert F. Mulcahy is a Licensed Pennsylvania Funeral Director and was born in 1951 to Robert P. and Elizabeth A. (Mastrolembo) Mulcahy. He is a 1968 graduate of Shade High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.  He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and has owned and operated the Robert F. Mulcahy Funeral Home in Central City since his father’s retirement in 1983. He is proud to have worked as an underground coal miner in local coal mines for a number of years prior to his work as a full time funeral director. Robert serves as a Deputy Coroner for Somerset County. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Somerset County Funeral Directors. He is also a member of UMWA Local 6410,  Knights of Columbus Council #9109 (Past Grand Knight), Assembly #2202, and St. John’s/Sacred Heart Holy Name Society and PNA Lodge #1878. He is an active member of the Shade/Central City School Board and Shade/Central City Joint Authority and is also a member of the Somerset County and Central City Chambers of Commerce. He is a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award.

Robert and his wife, the former Donna J. Kovak have operated the funeral home together since his father’s retirement in 1983. Donna is a Cairnbrook native. She is also a 1968 graduate of Shade High School and a 1971  graduate of The Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She has worked for many years as a registered nurse in the local area. They are the parents of two grown children and are blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
